Wessex Business Meeting 19/3/26

The first meeting in the 2026 calendar saw members gather on a superb sunny day at Salisbury & South Wilts GC. The day involved a mixture of educational presentations along with networking opportunities with colleagues as well as two business partners who were showcasing their products.

New Member Integration and Membership Retention

The first presentation was from Will Hewitt from 59club who shared his wisdom on Membership Sales, Integration and Retention. The time allocated could have been easily doubled as his informative insights resonated with everyone in the room.https://www.59clubuk.com/

Hot topics in the F&B world

After a short break, next up was the renowned Steven Brown fromInn-formation who once again shared his experience in the Food & Beverage arena, engaging the attendees with probing questions and thought provoking scenarios.

GCMA Update

Also on hand to give a quick update was Natalie McColl from GCMA Membership Services, with a special mention to the education options now available to members.

Demonstrators

Showcasing their products were The Coffee Bean Company/JDE Professional who exhibited two of their coffee machines. https://www.gcma.org.uk/partner-list/jde-professional/

Outside Husqvarna had a robotic mower demonstrator running, showing how greenkeepers can be freed up to undertake tasks other than keeping the mown areas of the course well manicured. https://www.gcma.org.uk/partner-list/husqvarna/

Lots of information to digest ahead of the coming season, it was great to have one of the region’s strongest attended meetings for some time.

Thanks go to Adrian Wratting/Charlotte Collins and all the wider team at Salisbury & South Wilts for hosting the day.
